6 Fun Games for a Great Garden Party

1) Limbo

How low can your guests go? Buy a limbo frame, or make one yourself, and get that horizontal bar creeping down each time the guests go around.

2) Bubble wands

Who doesn’t love bubbles? It’s really easy to make bubble mixture with some cheap washing up liquid, and if you look online, you can make giant bubble wands which will have your guests competing to see whose bubble really is big enough to step inside.

3) Sack racing

The school sports day favourite is a winner with adults too, especially after a few glasses of Pimms!

4) Treasure hunt

Set up clues and let your guests wander round the garden to find your secret treasure. A few cryptic clues will keep them busy for ages.

5) Giant pub games

Giant Jenga, dominoes and snakes and ladders are brilliant fun for all the family. Get them to show their competitive streak and take part against each other. Prizes for the winners!

6) Footballs and cones

You’d be amazed at the games people can invent with simple equipment. Put out half a dozen plastic footballs and a few packs of mini traffic cones. Maybe your guests will set up a goal shoot or a course to dribble a ball around. Simplicity is often the most versatile option.
