Host a karaoke party at home, and sing the night away!

If you want to throw a shindig that will have your friends singing your praises (pardon the pun), we recommend organising a karaoke party.

Though hosting a karaoke party in your own home may seem daunting, following our tips will simplify your responsibilities.

Get the gear

In this day and age, there are plenty of options for karaoke equipment. You may wish to invest in a machine, but be aware that apps such as Karaoke Anywhere enable you to sing your heart out without any additional equipment costs. Whatever equipment you decide on, be sure to do a test run well in advance to avoid technical failures.

Though microphones may not be necessary, they really do make a karaoke party feel more special. While karaoke machines tend to come with mics, they can be picked up independently for a low price if you plan on using an app. Again, just be sure to check that they can be hooked up to your speakers prior to the party.

Send out the invitations!

Let your friends know you’re hosting a karaoke night with our sophisticated karaoke party invitations. Consider asking attendees to put in song requests when they RSVP to ensure that your playlist has something to please everyone.

Plan the playlist

If you’re asking people for requests, putting your playlist together is relatively simple. If not, be sure to consider the music tastes of the friends you’ve invited. If you are struggling to compile a list, you could Google karaoke discs and games for inspiration. If you’re still having trouble, remember that 80s pop almost always goes down a treat.

Get the atmosphere right

If you have a specific theme for your karaoke night, you will probably want to decorate accordingly. If not, try to achieve a dim lighting, as you’d find in a karaoke bar, and consider hanging tinsel or fairly lights where your guests will be standing while they exercise their vocal chords. If your friends are shy, and particularly if they don’t all know each other prior to the party, you may want to step up and sing first in order to get things going.

Whether you’re celebrating a birthday or promotion, or are hosting your hen do at home, follow our tips, and your party should go off without a hitch!
